Drivingforces' Approach
Drivingforces works closely with its clients to find solutions and ways forward for them that is tailored to meet each client’s individual circumstances. Drivingforces' approach is twofold: With business Chris meets the client in person at their workplace to discuss the state of their business and to identify areas where they need advice/support. The issues, for example, may range from preparing/upgrading a business plan to developing a financial plan for their bank through to discussing strategies to help take their business to the next stage in its development. From the initial meeting an action plan, timeframe and monitoring programme is drawn up. With sport and not for profit organisations the approach is similar i.e. meetings in person to discuss the projects terms of reference, services to be delivered, outcomes to be achieved, methodology, indicative timelines and implementation strategies and related matters such as conflict of interest, costing and work in progress reports. Drivingforces methodology includes – -
client and stakeholder involvement -
research of key documents and data -
confidential self assessment surveys (if required) -
consultation – one on one and/or by phone – with the board, senior managers (and if appropriate representative group(s) of staff) and relevant stakeholders -
assisting clients to develop their business, financial etc plans, peer review them for quality, consistency and attainability -
writing up draft reports (with recommendations) for peer review -
final report/plan and presentation/discussion with the client -
informal and formal client feedback/evaluation -
post the project, maintain ongoing communication with the client on implementation progress and to offer advice and mentoring support as needed. Confidentiality of client information and data is important. To protect this, confidentiality clauses are written into the contract. “Drivingforces was brought in to assist us …it met the challenge and helped us achieve both objectives – improvement in the board’s governance and contribution to the Agency and plans to that are based on a clear, commonsense and realistic strategic direction and sound business principles – on time and on budget.” |
